Update Course for Sandboarding Instructors in Peru

A certified ID for professional sandboarding instructors in Peru

In October 2023, during InterSands’ visit to Peru to monitor the development projects being carried out in this South American country, ATC – Adventure Travel Consulting, represented by Aldo Saavedra (business manager and also promoter of sandboarding in Peru), approached us with the proposal to seek InterSands’ support for the management of different projects within its adventure sports consulting field.

A first step in giving this young entrepreneur confidence was the background of the methodological course for sandboarding instructors that was held online during the pandemic. Two years later, during his efforts to update the course and create a precedent with organizations such as APTAE and InterSands, Aldo Saavedra presented us with the proposal to update the course, but above all, the launch of the on-site exam for people who have been dedicated with years of experience in teaching sandboarding in Peru.

The project was started in mid-June, recruiting a limited number of people to generate effectiveness during the teaching and evaluation process of each one.

This evaluation and implementation process resulted in the recruitment of instructors from the cities of Lima, Paracas, Ica and Arequipa.

The course lasted two days and was held in Huacachina.

This background for licensing professional instructors seeks to promote the training of adventure tourism managers.

ID Card and Online Profile

As part of this course, nine (09) instructors were certified, who demonstrated intermediate level capabilities to teach this adventure sport to people who wish to learn it professionally or recreationally. In addition, the instructors will have an “Instructor Card” to identify themselves as an instructor trained to teach sandboarding, and this information can also be verified on the Intersands website.
